Comments...

I think I am leaning more toward writing original posts--even if they are in response to your posts--rather than using the "comments" option because with original posts you can go back and revise as well as use spellcheck.

That said, I've written the last few "comments" in Word first and then pasted the text into the comments section. That process allowed me to use spellcheck. But I read my last comment and I noticed I forgot "the" in one of my sentences. Technology only goes so far...

I think that is good and you should post whatever way you like.
I do like being able to scroll down the main page and see most of the movement of the conversation without having to click on comments.

BUT I also think we need to remember that we are using this as a communication tool. We want it to be a part of the process of writing, and reinforce the idea that the posts themselves are not our academic document. We want to encourage students that this is a place for discussion. The posts don't need to be perfect or formal or edited.

That being said, as writers I know we are looking to be perfect in our writing. C'est la vie.
