Launching this project

Well, after much discussion about creating this research project, we have been given the green light to progress. I appreciate Dr. Pagnucci's enthusiasm and willingness to let us take a unique approach to our writing and researching. I am very excited about this undertaking, both because it will allow me to grow as an academic writer in composition studies, but also because it will allow me to collaborate and brainstorm with a fellow student. I believe the process of collaboration will help me grow as a writer in a more effective fashion and enhance how much I will enjoy the process. From our discussions, I know Sabatino and I have similar research and teaching interests, and probably similar teaching styles. We both value the collaborative nature of writing, as well as believe strongly that writing is a process. By practicing this process with Sabatino and by completing this research paper, I believe that we will both grow as researchers and writers. I think it may open the door for us to continue collaborating on future projects, both in coursework and as academics. This is exciting to me, as I firmly believe that collaborations allow us to think and learn in ways that we could not do independently. I am interested to know how blogging will help us see the ways our writing processes are similar and different. I am hopeful that my writing process will improve through understanding Sabatino's approach to research and writing. I believe I will have to engage more often and in a more deliberate way with my research materials since I will have to be in constant communication with Sabatino.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with Sabatino, because he is truly as excited as me about the idea of trying blogs as a part of the writing process. Since we are both brand new to blogging, this will be an interesting and exciting endeavor.
